Itinerary

Day 1

Activities: Arrival in Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa On your arrival in Lhasa either by train or flight, you will be transferred to hotel in Lhasa. On the way from airport, you can view the Yarlung Tsangpo River / Brahmaputra River. Lhasa sits at 3650 meters (12,000 feet) so it’s best to relax and take proper time to acclimatize.  By doing so you can drastically reduce the risk of severe high altitude symptoms.

Day 2

Activities: Potala Palace,Sera Monastery & Tea House.  

After breakfast you will visit one of the most charismatic structure ever built in Tibet - the Potala palace - the winter residence for the successive Dalailamas. It is an awe-inspiring experience. Head to the Potala Palace and explore the grandest of its myriad rooms. See the jeweled burial chortens (stupa tomb) of the past Dalai Lamas as well as statuary and frescoes. In the afternoon you will visit Sera Monastery---Sera is one of the largest and important Buddhist monasteries in Tibet founded in 1419. Visitors can go for the Buddhist philosophical debates that takes place in every day (Except on Sunday).

After your sightseeing, you will visit Woeser Zedro tea house. This is one of the favorite tea houses that local Tibetans would go on their leisure.

Day 3

Activities: Jokhang, Yamdrok Yutso Lake

After breakfast, visit Jokhang Temple, one of the holiest and earliest Buddhist Temple in Tibetan Buddhist world. Yamdrok Lake, through the splendid scenery of the Tibetan Highland we drive up to Gampala pass which reaches nearly 5000m and with its stunning views of the holy Lake Yamdrok and distant view of Mt Noejin Kangsang (7191m). From the top of Gampala pass, it’s a long winding descent to the lake side, enjoying a pick nick lunch here would be a pleasant experience. Overnight at Lhasa

Day 4

Activities: Transfer to airport for flight to onward destination.
